From our research results we can see that the majority of our audience is females of 16 and under. This means that we should conduct our target audience to be female teenagers. By the results it is clear to see that not everyone watches dance films on a regular basis, the majority sometimes, but i think this is because it isn't like there are lots of dance films out, dance genres aren't as popular as others, so obviously aren't going to be seen as much, but when they are they are successful and popular. This audience likes dance movies the best that consist of different dance styles and a mixture of dancing. Although, close to this they enjoy the main form of dance, especially at a teenage age; street. More than half of our surveyed audience were in a relationship and they were interested in seeing romance in dance films as well as the dancing, and the most popular of the two were Step Up/Step Up 2 & Dirty Dancing. Through these films they enjoyed things like the music, the romance, the story, the talent and most important the DANCING. 80% of the response rate said that they prefer dance films to contain competition between the characters, and the majority attend the cinema one a month and either does, has or wants to dance with the exception of 2 respondents.
We will know ensure that we meet the needs and wants of our target audience, as they are the people who will be watching our film, so we need to listen to their views and adjust our original treatment to fit our project, now we have completed relevant and up-to-date research. This means will we know include things like competition between the characters, include a mixture of different dance styles (mainly street) and reflect it on Step Up and Dirty Dancing the most out of all the dance films we have looked at.
