It fits n with Gustav Freytag's theory, which suggests that narratives work in a triangle; they start with the exposition, then rise to a climax, before dropping again to the denouement. This is similiar to how Desperate Housewive's narrative. Each episode tells a different story and there is always a lesson to be learnt at the end of it. There is a voice over, as if telling part of the story, at the begining and at the end of the episode. Each character has thier own story, but they all come together at different parts of the episode.

Different housewives are represented in different ways. There are 4 main 'despeate housewives'/characters and they all have different personalities, but are al similar in one way; they all love gossip.
